Terms of service

The deal, in plain English.

Who we are

Borgonova (borgonova.com) is operated by SVE Ventures (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at sveventuresltd@gmail.com.

What this site is — and is not

Borgonova is an information and introduction platform about Italian towns, properties and relocation. We publish town data, link to property listings and official scheme documents, maintain a register of local tradespeople, and sell research and coordination services.

We are not an estate agency, a law firm, a tax adviser, an immigration adviser or a financial adviser. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, immigration, investment or financial advice. Before committing money to a property, a scheme or a move, take advice from a qualified professional — our paid services exist partly to connect you with them.

We take no commission on property sales and no commission on building work. When we are paid, it is by you, at the prices published on this site.

About the data

We work hard to be the most honest source in this market, and we label our data by how it was obtained: official statistics (ISTAT), records verified against issuing bodies, listings ingested from live third-party sources, and clearly-marked illustrative content. Every listing links to the source it came from.

Even so: schemes change without notice, listings sell, and Italian administrative practice varies town by town. We do not guarantee that any listing is still available, that any scheme is still open, or that any figure is current on the day you read it. Scores (Need, Liveability, Renovation Capacity) are our own editorial assessments built from the underlying data — they are opinions, honestly derived, not facts.

Third-party listings belong to the sites and agencies that publish them. Buying a property happens between you, the seller and the professionals you engage — we are not a party to any purchase.

The trades register

Trade profiles show a verification level that means exactly what it says: “self-listed” means we have checked nothing; “documents checked” and “verified” describe the specific checks we made, and when. We introduce; we do not supervise, warrant or insure anyone's work. Your contract for any building work is with the tradesperson, not with us. Always verify insurance and get written quotes.

Paid services

Our reports, calls and support packages are described, with prices, on the concierge page. Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees are for our research and coordination time; third-party costs (notary, survey, taxes, translation) are always separate and payable by you at cost.

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you generally have a 14-day right to cancel a service purchase. Where you ask us to start work within that window (for example, a report delivered inside 14 days), you consent to us performing the service and the right to cancel ends once the service is fully delivered. If a report or call has not yet been delivered, email us and we will refund.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape the site at abusive volume, misrepresent yourself in forms, submit listings or trade profiles you have no right to submit, or use the site for anything unlawful. We may remove content and refuse service to protect the platform and the people on it.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions made on the basis of information on this site, from third-party listings or schemes, or from work done by tradespeople we introduce. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. For paid services, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us for the service in question.

The boring but real bits

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes belong to its courts — though if you are a consumer you keep any mandatory protections of your home country.
