Moving to Tuscany: questions people ask

Can you buy a house in Tuscany for 1 euro?
Some comuni in Tuscany have run one-euro schemes. We have 1 on file, of which 1 is open or selling now: Fabbriche di Vergemoli (reported open). Every scheme comes with a deposit and renovation deadlines, and the renovation is the real price.

Does Tuscany qualify for Italy's 7% tax on foreign pensions?
No. The 7% flat tax on foreign pensions applies only to comuni of up to 20,000 people in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily. Tuscany is not one of them.
Where are the cheapest houses in Tuscany?
In the small inland comuni that are losing people fastest — the list on this page is a good place to start. Genuinely cheap houses come from three places: one-euro schemes, Italian court auctions, and owners selling privately, often with no agent at all.
